Introduction

Hi, I’m Goto Yuriko.You can call me Yuri — it means lily.I’m a product designer.I’m from Japan.I’m based in Malaysia.

The gap between design and code is closing.AI is closing it faster.Soon the border between the two will not mean much.

But AI builds on top of a story.It does not have one of its own.That part is still ours — and it is the part I want to lead.

  1. Sept 2020 – Mar 2024

    BSc in Multimedia Technology

  2. Aug 2022 – Nov 2022

    Graphic Designer / Frontend Developer Intern

    Maybank · Internship · Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

    • 4 months as an intern, running events for the Talent Acquisition and Apprentice Programme, for university students and outside guests.
    • I designed the collateral for GenM and then built the landing page it went on.
    • I also built a 360° tour of Mercu Maybank in A-Frame, so visitors could walk the office before they arrived.

  3. Nov 2023 – Dec 2025

    Frontend Developer

    INMAGINE (123RF) · Full-time · Malaysia

    • 123RF was my first job. I went to learn how front-end is really built, next to full-stack developers and a design team.
    • The work was Search and Media Assets: multi-select filters built up over years, where every change had to keep the photo and vector keyword pages crawlable.
    • Then 6 months on the AI assistant, building its front-end from nothing with the back-end team.
    • The design system and the front-end had grown apart, more than I could close alone. I asked the designers what to revamp first, and we went by revenue: portfolio, then index.
    • Payments came last: 3 months in a new domain, the team plan and its pricing table, and asking the lead and the designer rather than assuming.
    • 2 years in, the part I wanted was the conversation before the code.

  4. Mar 2026 – Present

    Product Designer

    Bridge International Asia · Full-time · Malaysia

    • I joined Bridge as a front-end developer and moved into product design in July 2026.
    • The work is corporate sites and products for Japanese companies opening in Malaysia.
    • I do the research and the draft designs, and stay with the development team through the build.
    • It is the first place where the drafts and the code have been the same job.
